The Wieżyca is the highest peak in the Szymbarskie Hills and in the entire Central European Plain. Wieżyca is also the name of a small village at the foot of the hill. A quiet holiday resort in summer, it becomes a bustling skiing resort during winter. The slopes of the surrounding hills, ski lifts, and if need be snow cannons, make for perfect winter sports conditions just as in the mountains. Lodgings and gastronomic offer cater for all tastes and standards, and skiing schools for the needs of beginners. Conditions for all kinds of winter sports are being constantly improved from year to year, making sure the resorts popularity does not wane.
The biggest attraction during the summer months undoubtedly is a hike to the peak of the Wieżyca, where the John Paul II Lookout Tower, erected here in 1997, offers you a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside – the Szymbarskie Hills, the lakes of the Radunia Ring and the Kashubian Road. The lookout tower is open for visitors from 9 a.m. until dusk.
If you like extreme sports, you can try out mountain boarding on the slopes of the Wieżyca. Riding down the mountain on these skateboards with oversized wheels may look dangerous, but with the right equipment, which can be rented on site, it is quite safe and certainly good fun.
